Just like last year’s list, this list isn’t your typical prospect list. Most lists will have all players that have not yet reached rookie status. My list is of players that have never been in the majors. The reason I did this is to exclude most of the players you’ve already heard of (David Price, Dexter Fowler, Cameron Maybin…) and introduce you to some unknown prospects that may emerege as stars one day. The list is deep and, especially near the bottom, some spots could be interchangable. I now present you with the top 175 prospects that have yet to play in the majors:

You’ll be able to take off some of the guys making their debut this week.

I really like the indepth aspect you have with this. I feel like my baseball knowledge is really growing now, since I’m recognizing a lot of the names on the list. I’ve seen a few of the LAA youngen’s play in Cedar Rapids for the Kernals the past few seasons (Mark Trumbo and Hank Conger).

Thanks! It was very hard to do such a deep list but it was fun!

i think the Kernals (LAA low A team) just got into town today, as I was walking to work, i saw a big pile of Angels Sports bags near the lobby of the Hotel I walk by.

That is awesome! Do you go to a lot of the games?

My schedule doesn’t really allow me to get to many, but since my son is almost 2 now, I think I’m planning on taking him to a few this season. I always try to watch a couple of the games when the Cubs affiliate, the Peoria Chiefs are in town. I saw Jose Ceda pitch a few years back when he was newly aquired.

Nice job Jonathan. Obviously, based on my list, I have Brad Holt much higher, but overall it is a great list!

I hope you can get to some games with your boy Charlie. Minor league games are great!

Thanks Danno! I see Holt a lot higher on most lists but I can’t put him higher until he develops at least two more pitches if he is going to remain a starter. He has a great fastball but that’s it. He is a reliever for me until he improves his secondary stuff.
