Buccaneers News and Rumblings

– The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had to make a move today on TE Jeramy Stevens since he was finished with his suspension. They did. They cut TE Ben Troupe to make room for Stevens. I am not a fan of this move and I don’t agree with Gruden here: “We do miss Jerramy,” Gruden said. “He’s a guy that really helps us as a threat, as a receiver particularly, and he’s a guy that has shown improvement as a blocker. But to bring him back on board we’ve got to create a space for him and that will be a tough call for us.” Really? A threat? To who? Any guy scared of getting punched in the balls? I’m not a big Troupe fan but Stevens has got to go.

– We made some practice squad moves (noted in the same Stevens-Troupe article) today as well. The Bucs traded practice squad cornerbacks. They added Kyle Arrington, most recently of the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad, and released Brandon Sumrall to make room. Both Arrington and Sumrall were undrafted rookie free agents this past spring according to the article.

– In more bizarre news, the Bucs are starting WR Michael Clayton in week 3 along side the man that is scared to catch the ball, Antonio Braynt. Does anyone else think the Bucs should run the ball 60 times against Chicago? Joey Galloway will be out in week 3. Sad =(

– With CB Elbert Mack suspended for his hit on Falcons QB Matt Ryan Bucs Beat thinks the Bucs will call CB Marcus Hamilton up to take his spot. Aqib Talib is still hurting and is listed as questionable so he might not even play and that would leave the Bucs with two CBs if they don’t call anyone up. I hope we get to see a lot of Sabby Piscitelli in this game even though he is not a CB.

– The Bucs Report is reporting that Bucs RB Warrick Dunn, LB Derrick Brooks, and DE Gaines Adams have not practiced.
